Context:

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Solomon Islands implements a range of national and regional projects aimed at addressing migration challenges and delivering increased protection and assistance to vulnerable populations in partnership with government, civil society, other United Nations (UN) partners, regional bodies, and private sector counterparts.

Through research, policy interventions, capacity building and outreach, these projects aim to develop sustainable solutions to reduce systemic vulnerabilities, to strengthen coordination frameworks and mechanisms, and to provide increased support to vulnerable populations, including victims of trafficking, exploited and abused migrants, and those displaced, or at risk of being displaced, by disasters.

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Officer will be responsible for supporting implementation of programming relating to improved communication and education on climate change and human mobility under a project aimed at strengthening resilience against disaster and climate change related fragility in the Solomon Islands. The selected candidate will equally be responsible for supporting project visibility and communications interventions.
